Baby Adelyn Jane Lyons was forced to finally join us 10 days past her due date, on March 9th, 2012. The labor was fairly easy and progressed quickly until the pushing stage where we found out she was "sunny-side-up", facing the wrong way and therefore close to impossible to push out! After trying for an hour and a half on my own (pushing during contrax can sometimes turn them), the doctor tried to manually turn her during contractions for about 30 minutes which also didn't work. Then it was onto forceps which eventually did the trick, thank goodness because our next option was a C-section. You can see her little scratches from the forceps, which will go away in a couple days. This little girl was really happy in there!
She came in at a whopping 8 lbs 13 oz which is huge for our family of 6 lb 14 ozers. She feels like a one month old to us! She was born at 4:03 PM and was 21 inches long. She is already an expert nurser and when not nursing loves to put her fists in her mouth. She has really only cried once (right after being born) and was awake for the majority of her first 12 hrs and has been asleep for the majority of the last 12 hrs :)
She looks more like her big brother than her big sister, we think, but its hard to tell with the extra chunk the other two didn't have. She also has the cutest skinny little long feet and very DARK hair on her head.
We are always amazed how much you can love a little being you have only just met but its hard not to when she is simply perfect.
