After we went to visit Grampy at Gate of Heaven Cemetery for Memorial Day we spent the day at the farm in Kentucky. Memorial Day took on a whole new meaning for our family this year after losing Tony (a veteran of the Vietnam War) and he was in our thoughts more than usual today.

Monkey

Griffin got a monkey sleeping mat from his great aunt Debbie and he hasn't slept without it since. We took it out of his bed one night and at 2 in the morning after hearing "me want ooh, ooh, aah, aah" for 10 minutes we had to put it back in. The problem is that monkey has to spread out and therefore Griffin practically sleeps against the rails in his bed to make room for him. I got a picture of him at 9 last night with his head on the monkey's chest...too cute. Thanks Aunt Debbie!

Annabel got lots of compliments on the day of her baptism for this dress. It has polka dots, a tutu and a huge flower. What's not to like?

Cousin Buddies

Griffin has always been very lucky to have his cousins Livi and Cam who he gets to see all the time since they live in town. However, it is a special treat for all of us when Gavin comes in town to visit since he lives on the other side of the country. Gavin and his mom have been in town for 2 weeks now and we have had so much fun together, especially since I have been on maternity leave. They leave tomorrow and it breaks my heart because I know all I will hear from Griffin for the next few days is "Where's Tell (Shell) and baby (Gavin)?". Thank goodness we will see them in Florida next month :)

Annabel's Baptism

Our little Annabel Marie was baptized at St Mary Church in Hyde Park yesterday. The deacon who ended updoing the baptism was a friend of mine's father, so it ended up being even more special. She was an angel the whole day and must have been exhausted because went to bed last night at 7:30 which is pretty early for her! The middle picture is her with her brother, parents, godparents and great grandparents. The top picture is her with her brother, parents and grandparents. Grandpa Lyons is always sorely missed but especially at special family events like this one. However, we know he was with us in spirit as his granddaughter was baptized into the Catholic Church.

Two Months Old!

Annabel is two months old today and she is amazing. She is such a happy baby who loves to talk, smile and be played with. She loves attention from anyone and will give a great big smile in response. She is a good eater, eating every 2 1/2 hours during the day and waking up twice at night to eat. She usually falls asleep at 9 PM and wakes up at 7 AM, with two feedings in between. She has a big day tomorrow, her baptism and I'm sure she will be an angel. She loves hanging out with her big brother and cousin Gavin who is in town and watches everything they do. Lastly, she is an expert thumb sucker and if she starts to get cranky she sticks her little thumb in her and she is happy. She loves tummy time, probably because she can get her thumb in her mouth really easily that way! Mommy, Daddy and big brother Griffin love you so much Annabel.

Zoo Trip

Griffin loved watching the "baby, Mommy, and Daddy" gorillas yesterday at the zoo.

He also got very excited to tough the hissing cockroaches.

Annabel got to go on her first train ride, which she was very good for. However, she is pretty good for everything :)

Needless to say, G and G loved the train ride too!

Bubble Machine

Griffin got a bubble machine for his birthday that he absolutely loves. It spits out 100 bubbles at once and he asks to pay with it morning, noon and night!

Griffin loved everything about his 2nd birthday party. He woke up this morning talking to himself about yesterday's events. The Mariemont Fire Dept. will come to birthday parties if asked in advance (as you can see by the pictures) and there is no emergency for them to be tending to :) Griffin was thrilled!

Yesterday was Griffin's 2nd birthday and I am still in shock that my "baby" is two. Today is his birthday party with friends and family but yesterday he got to open his presents from his grandparents and mom and dad. He got a water table and remote controlled car. More pics to come tomorrow from his firefighter themed party :)
