Annabel tried on Griffin's boots for him and we told her to look up (first picture) and smile (second picture)
Griffin had his Halloween party at preschool yesterday and he dressed up like a policeman (thanks Grandma!) He was so excited to show off his costume that he literally couldn't eat breakfast beforehand. At the party they got to eat "spiders" which were Oreos with pretzel sticks coming out the sides and icing eyes. They were a hit with his class and they were even peanut, treenut, milk and egg free for all the allergies in the class!
We went to Shaw Farm and the Mariemont Preschoolers Group Fall Party this weekend which meant lots of hayrides, apple cider, pumpkins, friends, scavenger hunts, food and good times. Managed to remember my camera for Shaw Farm but forgot the memory card. So the next day I was pretty proud of myself for remembering both!
We went to the Disney Store this morning as I told Griffin if his Field Trip got cancelled because of the rain, that we would do something else that was fun. We got there before they opened and they let one of the children waiting use this huge key to open the doors while they play music, make the lights get brighter and little fireworks go off all over the store. Inside they have a dress-up castle which Annabel loved and a huge screen tv with crayons and paper which Griffin loved. Neither of them were very interested in the toys which surprised me but it made it a lot easier to leave without spending any $ :)
I couldn't find Griffin and Annabel anywhere the other day. Usually their giggles or Annabel's "shhhhhhhh" gives them away. They were silent this time, apparently getting better at hide-n-seek. I found them on the side of the double vanity in Griffin's bathroom and they stayed there playing with the dome of a Crayola Glow Dome for over 15 minutes having a grand time.
Annabel does EVERYTHING her big brother does. She rinses her mouth out too after he does a breathing treatment, she sits on the toilet after he does, she washes her hands if he does, she runs around screaming if he does, she has to eat if he is, she has to sit by him on the couch if he is watching tv, she reads a book when he does, she cries when he cries, she plays with trucks when he plays with trucks and lastly we have figured out a way to get her to talk-we make Griffin say it and she will repeat anything he says :)
Today Scott and I went to my 20 week ultrasound and found out that we are having a little GIRL again! We were both in shock even though he thought it was a girl all along. Everything looked great anatomy/health wise for her and we left the office with huge grins on our faces that I am sure won't go away for a while. Hearing that she was healthy and seeing her (already) beautiful profile and adorable little features brought tears to my eyes. We know how lucky and blessed we are AGAIN :) Annabel and Griffin were both pretty oblivious to the news -old news for Griffin who already has a little sister and news that is a little over little Annabel's head quite yet. Griffin did say she should be named "Annabel 2" and we told him we would think about it :) I already know Griffin is going to be an amazing big brother to yet another little sister and I am thrilled that Annabel will have a sister so close in age to her.
We went to Great Wolf Lodge for grandma Gunderson's 80th birthday over the weekend. I didn't get many pics of the swimming but I did get one of the whole family, Annabel's favorite cousin, Kate, who played with her the entire weekend and Griffin's favorite boys who entertained him!
Annabel now has the 2nd upstairs bedroom and her old room will be the baby's room in a few months. She has adjusted very well to it and her brother loves being able to sneak in her room when she is sleeping to check on her.
We had an end of the summer party at the land with grandma, grandpa and a few of their friends yesterday. Although the temps were in the 50's we still managed to have a great time. There was horse petting, Power Wheel riding, hikes in the woods, a great dinner, smores by the fire, and fireworks to end it all. Thanks for the great memories grandma and grandpa!
